Cal Press enriches and grows California’s news gathering ecosystem by encouraging inclusivity, collaboration and the ongoing support of quality journalism education. By investing in journalism education and empowering emerging journalists, we sustain career pathways into local newsrooms and ensure the future and integrity of California journalism.

Role: Outreach Coordinator

JOUR•Ed Collaborative, an interactive directory developed by the California Press Foundation in partnership with the California State University, Northridge Journalism Department, serves as a modern interface between the profession and journalism education. By providing an easily accessible, yet comprehensive repository of statewide resources, the Journalism Education Collaborative streamlines the search for relevant programs, publications and research data to improve educational and industry opportunities for journalism professionals and future journalists alike.

NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists is a journalist-led, chapter-based association working within the news media to advance fair and accurate coverage of LGBTQ+ communities and issues.

Danielle became a board member of the Northern California Chapter in December 2025.

AWA is an international non-profit of creative writers and writing workshop facilitators using the AWA method created by Pat Schneider. Danielle became a certified AWA affiliate in 2022.
